Tension filled the brisk Alpine air as avid players staked their claim on poker stardom at the ECPokerTour Salzburg 2009. 123 players from more than 20 countries converged on this majestic Austrian city, to compete in the prestigious three-day tournament, sponsored by Titan Poker , which kicked off on April 3.
The excitement was palpable as players arrived at the new five-star Alpine Palace Card Casino. Players mingled pre-tournament in first class accommodation that included an open bar gala party, with acclaimed Fashion TV photographer Erwin Gabriel.

On April 4th, day three of the tournament, the top 9 players put on their best poker faces and took their seats at the Final Table. It came down to two players – Andreas Schmidt, from Germany; and Jacob Chen from Australia.
After a heated battle, Jacob Chen emerged as champion of the ECPokerTour Salzburg 2009 with a prize of 47,302 Euros. Chen, who previously represented www.titanpoker.com at the Asian Poker Tour in Macau, was barely able to contain his excitement and his only words were: “I am breathless.”
